Itinerary
Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Draa Valley – Zagora Dunes
Your driver will pick you up from your Marrakech accommodation at 7:30 AM. Begin your journey through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the famous Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m) while stopping to enjoy panoramic views and Berber villages.
After visiting the spectacular Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, continue to Ouarzazate for lunch and a guided visit of the Taourirt Kasbah and Cinema Studios. From there, travel south through the palm groves and henna plantations of the Draa Valley before arriving in Zagora. Dinner and overnight at a beautiful kasbah-style hotel.
Day 2: Zagora – Tamegroute – M’hamid – Erg Chegaga Dunes
After breakfast, continue your desert journey with a visit to Tamegroute, home to one of Morocco’s oldest Quranic libraries, an underground kasbah, and renowned pottery workshops.
Proceed to M’hamid, where the paved road ends and the true Sahara begins. Switch to your 4WD vehicle and drive off-road across desert plains and dunes to reach Erg Chegaga, Morocco’s largest and wildest dune field.
