Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura Palm

Your adventure begins with a morning pick-up from your Marrakech hotel or riad. Travel through the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2260 m), and enjoy panoramic views of Berber villages and valleys.

Stop at the magnificent Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for its desert architecture and movie appearances. After lunch, continue to Ouarzazate to visit the Taourirt Kasbah, then drive to Skoura Palm Oasis for dinner and overnight in a luxury kasbah hotel surrounded by date palms.

After breakfast, explore the Skoura Oasis and the historic Amridil Kasbah, then follow the Road of 1001 Kasbahs toward the Valley of Roses. If desired, take an off-road detour to meet a local nomadic family living in mountain caves.

Continue through Dades Gorges, famed for its striking rock formations, and stop for lunch in Boumalne Dades before reaching Todra Gorges near Tinghir. Stroll through the towering canyon and palm oasis, then enjoy dinner and overnight in a beautiful kasbah hotel at Todra Gorges.

After breakfast, take a short walk through Todra’s palm groves, then drive through Tinjedad, Touroug, and El Jarf on your way to Erfoud, known for its fossil workshops.

Arrive at Merzouga, where camels await for your sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Watch the desert transform in golden light before arriving at your luxury desert camp. Enjoy dinner by the fire, live Berber drumming, and an unforgettable night beneath the Sahara sky in your private ensuite tent.

Wake early for a magical sunrise over the dunes, then enjoy breakfast before riding your camel or 4×4 back to the hotel. Visit Rissani, a traditional market town, and continue toward Alnif, home to the famous Trilobite fossils.

After lunch in N’kob, drive through Agdz to visit the Kasbah of Tamnaugalt nestled in the Draa Valley’s palm groves. Journey through the Ait Saoun Mountains, then arrive in Ouarzazate for dinner and overnight in a 4-star luxury kasbah hotel.

After breakfast, visit Ouarzazate’s Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah, then head toward Ait Benhaddou for another look at Morocco’s most photogenic ksar. Enjoy lunch nearby before continuing to Kasbah Telouet, a historic stronghold of the Glaoui family.

Cross the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass and return to Marrakech by early evening, where your 5-day Sahara adventure concludes.
